State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara today (21) proposed a law should be bring to make sure that at least two to three persons travel in a vehicle, in order to manage the alleged fuel crisis in the country.
Speaking to the media, Jayasekara said that fuel should be utilized correctly and when only one person travel in a vehicle it is a waste of fuel.
He further said that about USD 7 billion is spent to import fuel to the country per year. Therefore, he requested the public to use fuel with a responsibility.
“At this moment people should think about whether they are going to use their vehicles, not about import of the vehicles. The future could be dark and the people should pay attention to grow at least few chili plants in their gardens,” he advised.
