The ongoing quarantine curfew has been extended till 4.00 a.m. on 1 October, President’s Media Spokesperson Kingsley Rathnayake said.
The curfew was initially scheduled to lift on 21 September. However, after analyzing the current situation, it has been decided to extend the curfew further.
Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella in a tweet said that essential services, however, will remain uninterrupted during the curfew.
He said that the regulations that are to be followed during this extended quarantine curfew will be notified soon and urged the public to abide by this quarantine curfew, and refrain from unnecessary travel.
