Explaining the reasons behind expelling Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera from the party, Our Power of People Party (OPPP) today (16) alleged that Rathana Thera is behind a political conspiracy to destabilize the country.
Addressing a media briefing, OPPP National Organizer Dr. Susantha Kodithuwakku said that the party’s central committee reached to the decision to terminate Rathana Thera’s party membership after convicting him of four counts.
“There is a political conspiracy going on in the country and as a result the contry has become anarchic. Also the decision of the government to suspend fertilizer imports is the part of that conspiracy and Rathana Thera is behind that. He advised both the President and the Agriculture Minister regarding the fertilizer issue. His main purpose is to give the fertilizer production to his people and to gain profits,” Kodithuwakku said.
“Rathana Thera wants to destabilize the country and break the government at some point. That is why he always support wrong decisions taken by the government,” he said.
