JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake fired a salvo at Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa saying that the latter’s brain should be tested without a delay.
Addressing a media briefing yesterday (12), Dissanayake stressed that Premadasa’s claim that an election should be conducted immediately was an utterly irresponsible and immatured statement.
“He calls for a sudden election despite the current pandemic situation in the country. It is true that the government has lost it’s credibility. But how can any one suggest to go for an election at this juncture? Is Premadasa in his right mind?” he queried.
Dissanayake reminded how everyone wanted to postpone the General Election 2020 because of the pandemic.
“Right now, the situation has gotten worse. More than 100 people are dying because of COVID-19 and about 3000 people are infected with the virus on dailu basis. In a situation like this Premadasa wants to hold an election. He wants to secure power despite the country’s situation. Some one should immediately check his brain,” Dissanayake stressed.
