Director General of State Intelligence Service (SIS) Major General Suresh Salley filed a complaint today (25) at the CID against several statements made in reference to him with regard to Easter Sunday terror attacks in 2019 by Reverend Father Cyril Gamini Fernando and others.
The compaints states that Fr. Fernando at an online forum on the 23 October 2021 said that Sri Lanka’s Intelligence Units had provided financial and other types of assistance to Zaharan Hashim.
Fr. Fernado had allegedly said that Salley, a Brigadier at the time played a huge role to assist Hashim and his followers.
Major General Sally rejected these allegations while claiming those were made to discredit him and mislead the general public.
He also said that such statements put lives of his and his family members in a risk.
He requested the CID to take legal actions against Fr. Fernando and others who participated in the online forum.
