Unvaccinated persons should get COVID-19 jab within this week: Prof. Jayasumana

Those who are above 30 years of age and not vaccinated so far, should get their vaccines within this week, State Minister Channa Jayasumana today (20) said.

He said that the government is prompt to issue this deadline as it is not possible to open vaccination centres everyday.

“Many above 30 years have got theie vaccine. But there are some who has avoided getting it due to various reasons. We have to give the priority to giving the jab for the youth adolescents now,” he noted.

Therefore, we request those who are above 30 years and have not received the vaccine yet, to get it within this week. So we can complete the vaccination drive for thosw who are above 30 this week, the State Minister added.
