Colombo Magistrate’s Court orders to release Francis Munindran, the worker at the All Saints Church in Borella who was arrested over the incident where a hand grenade was found in the Church premises.
The Borella Police and the Colombo Crimes Division first arrested Francis Munindran and three others on suspicion of involvement in the bombing. The group was produced in court and remanded in custody
Meanwhile, CCTV footage of the All Saints’ Church in Borella revealed that the bomber was not the church employee arrested on suspicion of the incident.
After lodging another complaint with the police, the Colombo Crimes Division re-examined the CCTV footage and arrested five more persons in connection with the incident.
Many parties, including Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, protested against the arrest of Muni.
