The Government decided to lockdown the country from 10.00 p.m. today (20) to 30 August, a short while ago.
Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said this in a tweet
Earlier, State Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana said that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa paid heed to the request of Malwathu and Asgiri Mahanayaka Theras to lockdown the country for 10 days.
All the essential services and vaccination drive for senior citizens will be function as usual. Pharmacies will be opened during the lock down period as well.
