Labour Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva today (4) said that social media in the country should be banned.
Speaking in Parliament he said that social media and websites are creating unnecessary issues in the country.
“The government has not taken any decision to ban or regulate social media yet. There is no law in the country regarding this too. Look at China. They do not have social media.”
The Minister further said that he frequently discuss this matter in Cabinet meetings. He requested other MPs to get together to raise their voices regarding this as well.
