He emphasized that this increase is primarily due to a reluctance among parents to bathe their children in response to the heightened heat and resulting sweating.
Dr. Perera urged parents and grandparents not to hesitate in bathing their children, even in hot weather. He emphasized that not allowing children to bathe can lead to a higher incidence of skin diseases. He recommended that children should be encouraged to bathe and engage in water play for a minimum of 20 minutes during the day or evening.
The doctor emphasized that bathing plays a crucial role in controlling skin diseases. He warned that if this issue is ignored by doctors and parents alike, it may progress to bacterial infections, resulting in pus-filled blisters, fever, and potential complications. Therefore, he reminded parents to take preventive measures to avoid such conditions from arising.
