Work from Home for pregnant mothers – Prof. Jayasumana

State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals prof. Channa Jayasumana today (5) said in Parliament that a circular will be issued soon to allow pregnant employees at public sector to work from home.

Several MPs from both government and opposition side raised concerns about the wellbeing of pregnant mothers at public sector when all the public sector employees are instructed to report to the duty.

Prof. Jayasumana also said that public sector employees before 30 years would be vaccinated as soon as possible.

Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said that steps are being taken to protect pregnant mothers and those who have no communicable diseases.
