King Charles III took his coronation oath at London’s Westminster Abbey and formally crowned.
The Archbishop of Canterbury placed St Edward’s Crown on the King’s head.

The King’s coronation, the first in the UK for 70 years, is under way at Westminster Abbey.
A military band played the national anthem as the King and Queen Consort set off from Buckingham Palace, and crowds erupted into thunderous cheers.
In the abbey, Charles was proclaimed as the “undoubted King” in the first stage of the ceremony.
The congregation was then asked to show their homage and service, shouting “God Save the King”.
The head of the UK’s main republican group and other activists have been arrested at a coronation protest in London.
Following the ceremony, the King and Camilla will return to Buckingham Palace.
Some 2,200 guests are expected at Westminster Abbey, fewer than the 8,000 who attended Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953.
A YouGov poll in the United Kingdom found that just 33 percent of those asked cared about the coronation.
