The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) informed the Supreme Court that it would withdraw the assurance to refrain from imposing power cuts until the Contempt Cace filed by the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) is taken up at the court today.
After that, the lawyers appeared for HRCSL and requested the Supreme Court to issue an interim order to prevent the CEB from imposing Power Cuts during the A/L examination.
However, the Supreme Court rejected the request and fixed the case on 7 February at 1:30 p.m.
