The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka stated that the reports regarding a preparation by China to take over the projects and government assets started in Sri Lanka using Chinese loans instead of restructuring the loans given to Sri Lanka are completely false.
There were reports that China has informed Sri Lanka that it is difficult to restructure the loans given to Sri Lanka, and if necessary, they are ready to take over the projects and government assets that have been started in this country using Chinese loans to compensate for loans.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Qi Zhenhong called on the Mahanayake Theros of the Asgiri and the Malwatta Chapters in Kandy and speaking to the media, the Ambassador stated that he will continue to provide assistance to rescue Sri Lanka from the economic crisis it is facing.
He also mentioned that the economic crisis in Sri Lanka cannot be solved overnight.
Also, the Chinese ambassador said in reply to the questions made by the journalists that they will provide aid to Sri Lanka in the future as well.
