Agriculture Miniter Mahindananda Aluthgamagehas instructed to sack Prof. Buddhi Marambe from all the posts he held at Ministry of Agriculture.
Accordingly, he will be removed from the chairmanship of Agricultural Research Policy Unit and membership of operational committee of Agriculture Sector Modernize Project.
Prof. Marambe criticized government’s carbonic fertilizer policy openly. When Minister Aluthgamage claimed that government imported 30,000 MT carbonic potassium chloride, Prof. Marambe said that potassium chlorde is not a carbonic fertilizer.
Also, during an interview with a Youtube channel, he alleged that someone has mislead the President regarding the organic fertilizer policy.
Prof. Marambe claimed if the government do not reverse the policy, the country would have to face a famine.
He has 33 years of service as an academic attached to Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture of University of Peradeniya.
